Wyatt Isaiah Green climbed the stairs to Heaven and received his eternal crown on February 5, 2023. He was 25 years old. He is survived by his parents Wyatt William Green and Stephanie Shores. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Wyatt displayed a magnetic personality that will be dearly missed. Wyatt was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 23, 1997. He was a special treasure from the day that he was born.
He understood his mission and fulfilled his assignment daily. Wyatt was affectionately known as ManMan, Dude, and Coach Wiggy. From an early age, Wyatt embraced his rare superpowers. He had an infectious smile, a spirit of positivity, and an overwhelming love for God. He had relentless perseverance of his faith. He never complained and always strived to reach for greater heights. Wyatt accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of First Baptist Church of Finleyville. He was a dedicated member of the church. He served on the Usher Board and was the Pastor’s Armor Bearer. He was always there when needed and made sure all the elderly had assistance as needed.
Wyatt graduated from Tillotson High School in 2016. Following graduation, he held several jobs and most recently worked at Dollar General. The position that brought him the most joy was assisting in coaching the Union Finley Bears Football team. He enjoyed working with the youth and encouraged them by being a stellar role model. Wyatt had an unquenchable thirst for understanding the Word of God and felt a calling to the ministry. He found solace in writing mini-sermons which included his personal testimony and short stories about Christian teens. He desired nothing more than to walk down the aisle of First Baptist Church to share his testimony of surviving cancer. For those blessed enough to have shared these fleeting moments with him, we relish them even more. There was an ease to his inviting demeanor and presence. For Wyatt, “death is nothing at all, I have only climbed to the highest of heights in my faith and received my crown. Whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone, wear no sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Let my name be the household word that it always was, I am but waiting for you at the Gates. All is well, in one moment all will be as it was before.”
Wyatt is preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and his brother DeMarcus Payne. He leaves not only an imprint on the hearts of so many but a legacy of nothing but kindness and fond memories of his sweet spirit. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Wyatt Green and Stephanie Shores and bonus mom Tracy Green, his sisters Amari (Whitney) Robinson, Majesty Johnson, Patricia, Terrae and Octavia Shelly, Avanti Halcomb, Jete Meade, Faatima Payne and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
