William Swift Obituary

William Swift, 70, of Duquesne, was born January 14, 1952, in McKeesport, PA. He was the beloved son of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Rochelle) Hill. William was adopted at a very young age by James and Easter Swift who reared him.


He attended school and graduated from the McKeesport School district.  William was a very dedicated employee where he worked, in Clairton Mill Works United States Steel for several years. His last place of employment was with an agency in McKeesport, PA., Angels of Care, as a Home Health Aid.


On July 4, 2012, Bill met the love of his life, Susan. William and Susan lived in Duquesne, Pennsylvania. He occasionally attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Duquesne, PA. Susan and Bill actively attended many church events, including Pastor Perrin's Anniversaries, and Phyllis Wheatley events, just to name a few.


During Bill's down times one of the hobbies, he enjoyed the most was playing with his X-Box and did not like to be disturbed! He was an avid Steelers Fan too!


William departed this life on September 18, 2022, at Monroeville, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Hill, mother, Elizabeth (Rochelle) Hill, sister, Dorean Allen, two brothers, John Rochelle and Keith Hill, and adopted parents, James, and Easter Swift.  


William is survived by his loving; Fiancé, Susan Gipson-Jackson of Duquesne, PA; daughter, LaDonna Sifford of Cleveland, OH; two sons, Christopher Henry of Baltimore, MD, Elijah McKissick of Pittsburgh, PA; four sisters, Linda Hill of NJ, Elizabeth (Roy Tatem) Hill of VA, Gayle (Sid) Hopkins of Munhall, PA; and Alice Brisco; four brothers, Ernest Hill, Marcus Hill, Marvin Miles, and James Lynwood Brisco, all of Pittsburgh, PA; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Bill will be truly missed by Susan and his family and friends.
