William Harvey Bowyer Obituary

 

Mr. William Harvey Bowyer, 89, of North Versailles, Pennsylvania, departed this life peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania.


William was born February 23, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the beloved son of the late William Bowyer Sr. and Maxine Dolores Edmundson Bowyer.


William was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church in Homewood, Pennsylvania, where he served as an usher until his illness.


He retired from the Labor Union #373 and SEIU Union in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed traveling to New York, NY, and especially his vacation in Hawaii. Spending time at the flea market was something he enjoyed doing, where he had many friends. He also enjoyed RV camping at Lake Authur and Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.


He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Marie Clarke Bowyer; sister, Barbara Roebuck; and brothers, Richard Bowyer, Ronald Bowyer, and James Bowyer.


The life of William will be forever cherished by his daughters, Phyllis Bowyer of North Versailles, PA, and Michelle Bowyer Berkley of Wilkins Twp PA. and son William Alan Bowyer of California; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, brother-in law K.T. Gissendanner of Clairton, PA., sisters-in-law, Rosalind Dixon of Elizabeth, PA., Emily (Elder Melvin) Brown of Clairton, PA., many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
