Wayne Louis Battle, 68, of West Mifflin, was born November 9, 1955, in McKeesport, PA. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Martha Olivia (James) Battle Sr.
Wayne attended and graduated from Duquesne High School in 1975. Wayne was the oldest son of Joseph and Martha. Wayne worked for the United States Steel Corp Irvin Works Plant for over 9 years and at Bob Evans Inc. as a prep and line cook for 25 years.
Wayne was raised in Duquesne and attended Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church at an early age with his parents and siblings. Despite his size, Wayne loved to play and watch all sports and played Football, Baseball, and Softball. Wayne loved cars, and his car was always clean! Although Wayne was small in stature his heart and toughness never let his size stop him from anything he wanted to do.
Wayne and Patty met at a very young age in Burns Heights, over 30 years ago. From that time on they united in marriage and became soulmates. Even through trials and tribulations the love they shared was unbreakable. Wayne and Patty made a promise that they would remain together until we meet again. ♥
Wayne departed this life on August 7, 2024, at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Joseph A. Battle, Sr., mother, Martha Olivia (James) Battle, brother, Joseph A. Battle, Jr., and brother-in-law, Ronald Wooten.
Wayne is survived by his loving spouse of 13 years Patricia Ann Wooten Battle; brothers, Aaron Battle, and Gerald (Felicia) Battle; sisters-in-law, Charlene G. LeBeau, LaSonne Wooten; brother-in-law, Antwan D. (Sabrina) Wooten; godson, Pareese "Pee Wee" Smith, Jr.; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and many cousins, extended family and friends.
