Vernon Von Meade, Sr.

Vernon Von Meade, Sr., 72, of Clairton, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 in Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born February 22, 1946 in Clairton, PA, son of the late James D., Jr. and Louise Lewis Meade.  He was the loving husband of Frances F. Johnson Meade of Dallas, TX

Vernon attended First African Methodist Episcopal Church.  He proudly served in the United Stated Air Force as a Sargent.  He retired from PPG Paints in Allison Park, where he was a Customer Service Technician.  Vernon was a Clairton High School graduate and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh.  He loved his family and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Frances F. Meade of Dallas, TX; his three sons, Vernon V. Meade, Jr., TX, Justin Robert Meade, Sr., TX, Jod Lamar Meade all of Dallas, TX; one grandson, Justin R. Meade, Jr.; two sisters, Billie (Richard) Meade Price of Clairton, Myrna Meade of Clairton; sisters-in-law, Gonda Lee Meade and Patricia Meade both of Clairton; aunt, Genavive Lewis of Clairton, nieces, nephews, many cousins, and friends.

Friends will be received Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., 449 Mitchell Avenue, Clairton, Pennsylvania.  Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in First African Methodist Episcopal Church, 177 Mitchell Avenue, Clairton, Pennsylvania with Elder Anthony Simmons officiating.

Interment will follow in the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
