Valerie Ann Smith departed her life on February 6, 2023, at the age of 52. Born September 20, 1970, in Clairton PA. Valerie was the daughter of the late LaVerne Smith and Otto Payne. She will be preceded in death by Siblings; Brothers Richard (Jason) Smith, Charles (Bookworm) Smith, Robert (Bobby) Smith, Kenneth (Snuffy) Smith, and sister Lorraine Smith along with her nephew Kenneth (Kennyman) Olgetree.

Valerie leaves behind four beautiful children to mourn her loss. Her oldest son Blake Smith of Clairton PA, oldest daughter Shanice Smith of Reynoldsburg, OH, middle child Sade Pitts of Pittsburgh, PA and youngest son Pierce Pitts of Reynoldsburg OH. Valerie had five grandchildren that will miss her dearly along with nieces and great-nephews. Valerie’s remaining siblings are Bonnie Smith, Tony Smith of Charlotte, NC, Michael Smith, and Vernon Smith of Pittsburgh, PA. 

Valerie loved attending Services at Morning Star Baptist Church. Growing up she enjoyed being a Member of the Young Ladies Striving Youth Group. Known to everyone as Valdez. Anyone who knew Valerie knew she had a Big Heart. Valerie could be considered as a foodie. She enjoyed playing Scratch off Tickets and was a true fan of the Clairton Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers. 

Valerie will be missed by her family and close friends. She appreciated the many "PRAYERS" and unconditional love she received from her hometown of Clairton. 

Rest in "HEAVEN" and we will see you again one day.
