Tywan Pierre ("Teetaboo") Staples

Tywan Pierre Staples, of Duquesne, was born February 8th, 1970, in McKeesport Hospital. He was the second of three sons born to Rita Staples and Ron Hill. Tywan was raised in Cochrandale Projects.

Tywan graduated from Duquesne High School in 1988. At the age of 19, Tywan graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics where he pursued his career in aircraft maintenance. Tywan was hired by United Airlines which led him to Oakland, California where he met Terry Lee. Terry and Tywan married in 1997. They have two sons: Amir and Ahmad. 

Affectionately known as “Teetaboo” or “Gadge”, Tywan radiated kindness, sincerity, and genuineness to his many friends and family near and far.

He devoted unselfish energy and time to the care and nurturing of others. He had an enormous ability to extend himself beyond measure to be a blessing to many.. and I mean many.

Tywan was a loyal NFL football fan to whatever team was hot that year, a devout NBA Golden State Warriors fan, and a fantasy football fanatic. He enjoyed golfing, a good poker game, eating well, and socializing with family and friends.

Tywan will live forever in the hearts of his mom; Rita Staples, dad; Ron Hill, sons; Amir and Ahmad, brothers; Montel (Monica) Staples, Rashene (Tamara) Staples, Michael Hill, and Robert Russell Spence Jr., Sister; Rheyshawn, Grandson; Aayan, and Soulmate & Life partner; Rochanda Petty-White, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts.

Tywan is preceded in death by his uncle; Joe, Grandmother; Mary, Grandad; “Gramps”, Brothers; BJ Gustave and Joe Hill, Cousins; Isha Tyree, Wayne G, and Corey Snap.

You taught us how to be our best, to live in the moment, to never hold a grudge for too long, and to be loyal to our friends. Your presence was a light and joy.
