Suzanne Carol (Siebert) Woods

PITTSBURGH, PA – Suzanne Carol Woods, 74, died June 22, 2023. The celebration of her life will be at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church on June 30, 2023, at 11:00 am.

Mrs. Suzanne C. Woods was born on December 6, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a daughter to George and Vern Siebert. Having fulfilled all of her worldly obligations, she peacefully departed this life on June 22, 2023, while surrounded by her three sons and her beloved sister, Julie, and niece, Michelle.

Suzanne worked tirelessly to place the needs of others before her own, she was extraordinarily devoted to her family and enhanced the lives of everyone she met. She accepted and cared for everyone with no expectation of anything in return. Her love manifested in many forms—but particularly through delicious family dinners, a lifelong fixture in the Woods’ household. She opened her home to strangers and friends alike and will be remembered for her kindness, strong faith, and unrelenting service to others. Her work ethic and kind demeanor enabled her to build lifelong friendships throughout her career and within her church, Mt. Ararat Baptist.

Suzanne met the love of her life, Donald Woods while working as a server at Frenchy’s restaurant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She remained lovingly dedicated to Donald throughout her life and the two marked their 45th wedding anniversary on June 8, 2023. She was equally dedicated to her sons Barrett, Royce, and Lance—she showered them with love, she believed in them, encouraged them, and taught them that it is always better to give than to receive. Whether it was cooking for her precious (and very hungry!) sons and grandsons, sewing their Halloween costumes, making their Easter baskets, or changing their bandages, Suzanne did everything with love.

To all who were blessed to know her, Suzanne embodied strength, courage, grit, and grace—and her legacy is unconditional love. She will be profoundly missed.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Donald Lee Woods, Pittsburgh, PA; her children, Drs. Barrett (Shailen) Woods, Royce (Stephanie) Woods, and Lance (Camille) Woods; her grandchildren, Barrett Woods II, Winston Woods, Noah Woods, and Roman Woods; her siblings, George (Gail) Siebert II, Tim (Kim) Siebert, Julie (Ricky) Rickard, and Cindy Siebert; and her nieces, nephews, and loved ones, Harry (Nicole) Siebert, Jodi (Rich) Lynn Siebert, Mike Simmons, Luke Walter, Ellie Walter, Shelley Siebert, Fred Light, Chloe Light, Zion Darby, Brittany (Michael) Schact, Madelyn Schact, Junior Schact, Lincoln Schact, Courtney (Brandon) Kennedy, Riley Kennedy, Carrie (Nick) Showman, Bethany Siebert, Watson Kohl, and a host of other relatives and friends. Suzanne was preceded in death by her brother Harry Siebert, her father George Siebert, and her mother, Vern Siebert.
