Soraya Kudiabor, a flight attendant for American Airlines, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in Fort Mill, SC. The Fort Mill resident was 55 years old. The daughter of Beatrice Givens and Samuel Givens born in Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico, and grew up in McKeesport, PA. She graduated in 1983 from McKeesport Senior High School.
Ms. Kudiabor earned her certification as a Dental Assistant in 1984 from the Median School of Allied Health Careers in Pittsburgh, PA. For the past ten years, Soraya was a Dental Assistant/Spanish Interpreter/Missionary for Medical Missions in San Pedro, Guatemala, where she assisted and interpreted for dentists and patients that needed dental and medical care. For the past 19 years, she was an employee of American Airlines, where she was a flight attendant based out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. She was the happiest when she was with her friends and family. She loved traveling, and her life was always full of adventure.
Soraya was an outgoing, positive person. Her life, smile, and personality were the essence of who she was. She was a very spiritual person who gave her life to God and those around her. She was loved by many of her passengers and adored by her crew. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved fulfilling her mission of being a missionary. She had a heart of gold.
She loved her family, especially her only surviving child, whom she adored, Marley Kudiabor. In addition to her dear Marley, Soraya is survived by her parents, Beatrice Givens and Samuel (Jacquelyn) Givens, sisters; Rosanna (Lorenzo) Pittman of Brandywine, MD, Jacqueline (Louis) Belton of Monroeville, PA, and Cynthia Givens of McKeesport, PA. She also has a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends.
