Shirley Ann Simmons, 80, departed this life on December 31, 2023, in Shadyside Hospital Pittsburgh, Pa. Shirley was born August 28, 1943, in McKeesport, Pa. She was the beloved daughter of Alvin R. and Lucy Mae Brown Simmons.                       

Shirley attended Shaw Ave. School in McKeesport. She was employed and retired from The Jewish Home in Squirrel Hill, PA where she started as a Nurse's Aide and was later promoted to Office Manager.  

Shirley loved traveling, visiting places like Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Bahamas to name a few. She also loved watching sports like baseball and football. She was an Eastern Star, board member of the YMCA in McKeesport. Shirley had a passion for helping people who needed housing.

Shirley was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in McKeesport where she was baptized in 1990.

Shirley was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred Simmons, Alvin R. Simmons Jr., mother, Lucy Mae Brown Simmons, and father, Alvin R. Simmons.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Ella Mae Plummer, and Lorraine Phenizee; brothers, Fredrick Simmons, Harry (Barbara) Simmons; nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
