Shelden Lamont Hampton, 35, of Clairton, Pennsylvania, was born September 11, 1989, in McKeesport, PA, the son of Julia Snead and Donald Hampton.

Shelden, affectionately called “Shellz,” graduated from the Commonwealth Secondary School in 2007, then went on to receive his certificate in HVAC. Shelden worked various small jobs. However, his passion was in the Arts.

Growing up, Shelden loved being outside riding his bike with friends in Manchester, and venturing downtown and playing along the North Shore. Shelden loved music, he carried various notebooks with songs he had written. Shelden aspired to write a book about his life. Our favorite memory of Shelden was listening to him randomly start rapping about anything that was on his mind. He was a jokester and loved his family and children.

Shelden passed away on August 14, 2025. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Lucille Mosley, grandmother, Adelaide Snead,  aunts, Darlene Snead, Barbara Hampton, uncle, Duane Hampton, brother, Donald Jackson, cousin, Shaun Richardson, other family and friends.

Remaining to cherish Shelden’s memory are his children, Ja’Naiya Chapman, Lyric Hampton, and Ja’Ceir Hampton; parents, Julia Snead and Donald Hampton; godparents, Kimlyn Johnson, Leroy Johnson; brother, Kellen Mclemore; sister, Jhonna Newby; nieces and nephews, Jhustice, Kellen Jr, Aryanna, Anastasia, Zion, Shawntez, Alicia, Donald Jr, Darnell, Stephon; host of loving cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
