Roy Howard Hairston, 62, of Clairton, was born November 9, 1961, in Martinsville, VA. He was the beloved son of the late Benjamin and Ida Mae Clanton Hairston.
Roy relocated to Clairton, PA at a young age and graduated from Clairton High School. Growing up alongside his four sisters, Roy brought a unique perspective to their family dynamic. While quiet by nature, Roy’s laughter could light up any room, making him the life of the party at every gathering.
Over the years, Roy held various jobs including working as a security guard for St. Moritz Security and as a contractor for Coker Construction. He also worked as a painter and roofer for Petty’s General Services before venturing out on his own as a self-employed handyman.
Known for his generous and kind-hearted spirit, Roy was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. If you needed something, and Roy had it, he would give it with a smile on his face. Roy was also not afraid to get his hands dirty and did anything he could to help his family. Roy found joy in simple pleasures, as he loved to fish, paint, cut grass, and spend time with loved ones.
