Roland Curdell Johnson, 65, of Temple Hills, Maryland, was born May 31, 1957, in McKeesport, PA. He was the beloved son to the late Joseph and Barbara (Ruffin) Johnson.
He was a graduate of Clairton High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh for a duration of time before exploring other career paths ultimately finding his footing in car sales. Roland worked as a Sales Manager for Waldorf Chevrolet Cadillac.
Roland enjoyed spending time playing his bass guitar, riding his motorcycle, and attending Steelers games, but would root for the Bengals when his cousin was on the field. While he had some personal struggles in his young adult life, he worked diligently to make amends and overcome his adversities. People who knew him will always remember him with a smile on his face and infinite knowledge about anything related to car sales and profits. Selling cars was his passion and it showed through his work ethic and easygoing nature about the business.
Roland departed this life on June 17, 2022 in Temple Hills, MD. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph B. Johnson, mother, Barbara L. (Ruffin) Johnson and his maternal aunt Betty Boyd.
Roland is survived by his loving children; two sons, Jamar Sherrill, Roland Johnson, Jr.; daughter, Jacalyn Wetzel; 10 grandchildren, four brothers, Rev. Eric T. Johnson, Benjamin C. Johnson, Henry Mitchell, Brandon Taylor; sister, India Johnson; cousin/brother Renard Johnson, nieces, nephews, friend, Marlene Merriweather, extended family and friends.
