Robert Russell Spence Obituary

Robert Russell Spence, 73, of Turtle Creek, was born July 12, 1950, in Clairton, PA. He was the beloved son of the late Petro and Catherine Coachman Spence.


Robert was affectionately known as Russell, he enlisted in the United States Army. One of his favorite jobs was as a traveling, Barber. He enjoyed cooking and working on cars.  


Russell gave his life to the Lord and was baptized where he attended church regularly at Mt. Olive First Baptist Church of Clairton, PA. He was a kind person and had a good heart, would do anything to help those who asked of him, and meant well in his doing for others. Russell enjoyed spending time with his family and friends when he could.


Robert departed this life on April 9, 2024, at his home in Turtle Creek, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, Petro D. Spence, mother, Catherine Coachman Spence, sisters, Patricia Stroud, and Karen Spence, brothers, Fredrick Berry, Anthony Berry, Johnathan Newby, Petro Newby, sons, Thomas "Man" Ingram, Corry Staples.


Robert is survived by his special wife, Donna Staples Spence of Duquesne, PA daughter, Roslyn (Gary) Ingram of Sterling Heights, MI; son, Robert Russell Spence, Jr., of  Duquesne, PA., daughter-in-law, Chasity Thompson, 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Pedro Trevor Spence of Erie, PA, Ronald “Ting” Berry of Clairton, PA, Steven (Patricia) Newby of McKeesport, PA, Doran Newby of Clairton, PA, Bruce Newby of Columbus, OH; six sisters, Dr. Lenora Graves of McKeesport, PA, Blanche (Robert) Webb of McKeesport, PA, Margurite Fant of Clairton, PA, Crystal Newby of Clairton, PA, Barbara (Eric) Hatchett of Clairton, PA, Tanya (Travis) Irons of Clairton, PA; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
