Rhonda Renee Rodgers

Rhonda Rodgers, 67 of Duquesne, PA was born December 17, 1955, in McKeesport, PA.  She was the beloved, daughter of the late Pendon and Nancy (Williams) Rodgers.  

Rhonda graduated from Duquesne High School and later followed in her father’s footsteps by working in the US Steel Mill, Duquesne Works. Rhonda was the oldest of 4 children and eagerly looked out for them all. She loved spending time with her soulmate, Skip, and playing cards with friends.

Rhonda was a laborer for others. She was the family “handy lady”. She could fix almost anything while, cooking, cleaning, and babysitting at the same time. All kids loved her, even though she was tough on them. Rhonda routinely cared for elders & family members who were sick, in pain, or just needed a hand.  Much of the time, she was suffering through her own pain, but she got the job done, fussing in all because that’s the type of person Rhonda was. Despite life’s struggles, she continued to give of herself to family and loved ones.  Even in her death, Rhonda continued that giving spirit by donating her precious organs. Yes, Rhonda is still helping others today!

Rhonda departed this earthly life on January 11, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was preceded in death by her father Pendon Rodgers, Sr., mother, Nancy W. Rodgers, brother Pendon (Robust) Rodgers Jr, and sister, Tina Rodgers Davis, grandparents, Charles & Nancy Garrett and Sylvester & Tossie Abercrombie. Mother-in-law, Rosezella Tennon, and brother-in-law, Lamont Toliver.

Rhonda is survived by the love of her life; Ernest Tennon; daughters, Dezlyn (Omar) Carr of Bowie, MD, Tyra Rodgers of Duquesne, PA; son, Kareem Rodgers of McKeesport, PA; brother, Bobby Rodgers of Duquesne, PA; aunt, Ernestine (Cornell) Broadwater, stepson, Trenton Hill, stepdaughters, Nicole (Sheen) Carson and Sharon Boyd; sisters-in-law, Ramona Wilks, Jacqueline Tennon, and Lisa Toliver. 19 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
