Reverend Charles B. Wade Obituary

Reverend Charles B. Wade, affectionately known as Pookum, Rabbit, and Charlie B departed this life Sunday, August 14, 2022, in the AHN Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills Pennsylvania.


Rev. Wade was born on August 7, 1956, in McKeesport Pennsylvania. Charles is the son of Martha and the late Charles L. Wade. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha (Granny) Wade, brothers, Wayne (Nu Nu) Wade Sr., and Michael (Mike-Mike) Wade, and nephew Geoffrey M. Wade.


When he graduated from Clairton High School class of 1975, he was a member of the Clairton Bears basketball and football teams. He also was head coach of the boys Clairton Junior high school basketball team, and then later he became the Video Technician of the Clairton High School Bears Football Team. After graduating from high school Reverend Wade enlisted in the United States Army with 16 years of service. He served two tours of duty in Desert Storm 42nd Infantry Division. Upon his retirement from the military as Sergeant First Class, he and his wife Sharon E. Wade moved back to Clairton, PA. where he landed a job with The Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese as a Security Guard. Reverend had numerous positions before assuming a job as a Counselor and then Program Manager at Auberle in McKeesport. After Auberle Rev. Wade attended Computer Tech Institute of Pittsburgh, PA. where he graduated with honors. Rev. Wade was a member of the Unity Choir where his spoken solo lead was Already Done, on the Male Chorus. An Ordained Deacon, and an Associate Pastor of Mount Olive First Baptist Church of Clairton, PA. He accepted the call to pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church of Blythedale, PA., in 2002 where he pastored for 20 years until the Lord called him home. ❤️


Rev. Wade was an anointed, knowledgeable, and well-versed teacher of the word of God, he was loved and cherished by many and will be truly missed by all.


Reverend Charles Wade leaves to cherish his memory, his mother; Martha Wade, his loving wife Sharon E. Wade, sons; Brandon (Janette) Wade of Kilmarnoch Virginia, and Ezra Charles Wade of Clairton Pennsylvania, and daughters; Francine (Jerry) Williams of Canton Ohio and Aretha (Chris) Hoye of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, six grandchildren Shelby Smith of West Virginia, Tereeq (Natalie) Smith of Fusso, Tokyo, Cierra Smith of Pittsburgh, Branndonn Wade, Brandi Wade, and Deandre Wade of Virginia, two great-grandsons Dairon Johnson and Dashawn Johnson of Pittsburgh. Sisters; Patricia (Ralph) Hamlin of Lugolf South Carolina, Charlene B. Wade-Prescott of Clairton, P.A, brothers; Minister Tracy L. Wade, and Deacon Carlton L. (Joy) Wade Sr. of Clairton, PA.; godchildren, Ruth Tobe of Maryland and Courtney “Buddha” Carter of Clairton, PA.  A host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces, and nephews, extended relatives, and many wonderful friends.
