Reverend Constance Corbin Obituary

Constance Louise Corbin (Connie) was born to the late James and Thelma Corbin on February 10, 1956. She was the youngest and only girl of five children. Connie passed from this life on October 15, 2024.

Connie was a graduate of the Yough School District of West Newton, PA. Upon graduation, she attended Virginia State University studying journalism. She paused in her junior year and served 3 tours/12 years in the USAir Force. The Air Force provided experience with computer programming and adventure from Iceland to Panama City and Las Vegas before selling her motorcycle and moving back to the Pittsburgh area. Connie returned to school and completed her B.A. in journalism and computer science. She later received the Certificate of Ministry from Geneva College at the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry.

She was employed for over 25 years at Allegheny Energy where she was a Field Technician and later moved into data analysis. Connie was a member of the local NAACP and in retirement, she wrote independent articles for the McKeesport Times. Reverend Corbin was also actively involved with Women in Ministry 3rd District A.M.E. Church offering up prayer whenever called upon.

Connie loved the Lord. From passing notes as a child in church to putting her musical talents to work as the church pianist, she continued to grow in the Lord. Connie received her license to preach and subsequently earned her ordination as a local Deacon and Elder in the A.M.E. church. She graduated from the renowned Harty Bible School and received her appointment to pastor St Paul A.M.E. Church, West Newton, the very church in which she grew up. Reverend Constance Corbin shared her ministry with other churches whenever asked, with nursing homes, and with individuals in their homes. She always went wherever she was called, willingly, humbly, with a smile, simply happy to talk about Jesus.

Connie is preceded in death by brothers Terence, Eddie, and Jamie. She is survived by one brother Dallas (Rita), nieces Trina, Tosha, Temesha, and Latoya, and nephews Jason, Eric, and Dante.

Constance (Connie) Corbin had an infectious laugh, a bright spirit, and genuinely authentic kindness. She will truly be missed by her cousins and friends and everyone who knew and loved her.
