Deborah Pearl Taylor was born on September 2, 1949, in Westmoreland County to the late Jesse C. Taylor and Ethel Mae Pilson Taylor Craig. She received her primary and secondary education from Kiski Area School District. Having the desire to help others she gained employment at Saint Francis Hospital in Lawrenceville, PA as a Certified Nursing Assistant. There she worked with many patients assisting them with their physical therapy and medical care. After retiring, Deborah relocated to Clairton, PA. She enjoyed cooking and sharing the fruits of her labor with her family and friends.
At an early age, she was baptized at First Baptist Church of Avonmore, PA. Deborah was a devoted Christian. She continued to further her education in the study of Christianity by attending Hardy Bible School, completing a four-year course on the books Genesis through Numbers. She also completed a seven-year course at Marilynn J. Davis Christian Ministries International School of the Bible. Deborah loved the Lord and was excited to spread the Good News. She was licensed to preach on July 20, 2002, by Elisha Ministries, McKeesport, PA. Following her calling from God, she was ordained on July 31, 2006, by Withered Hand Ministries in Blountville, Tennessee.
Reverend Deborah Taylor united with the Mount Olive First Baptist Church in Clairton, PA under the pastorate of the former Rev. Dr. William C. Callaway. There she was an associate minister and she sang with the Sanctuary and Unity Choirs. On August 3, 2014, Reverend Taylor united with Morning Star Baptist Church in Clairton, PA under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Willie J. Thompson, Jr. She was an associate minister who was a faithful member of the Anita Kay Missionary Ministry. She sang in the Women’s Choir, attended Sunday School regularly, Wednesday Night Bible Study, and was a faithful leader of the MSBC prayer line until her health prevented her from doing so.
Reverend Deborah Taylor went home to glory early Friday morning, March 3, 2023, in McKeesport, PA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Georgianna Taylor Henderson Covington, and Jessica Taylor Stevenson.
She leaves to cherish her memories beloved sister, Bessie L. Sewell – Hudson, two brothers, John William (Anita) Taylor and Jesse C. Taylor Jr.; nieces, Daphne (William) Wanzer, Lisa Taylor, Jackie Taylor Miranda Sewell-Pack, Tiffany, Jennifer, and Natalie Taylor; nephews, Michael (JoAnn) Taylor, Richard (Tonya) Taylor, and Alvin J Sewell; cousins Patricia Bolinger and Myrtle Godson; great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
