Paul Braxton Fields Jr. Obituary

Paul Braxton Fields Jr., 86 of McKeesport, PA was born March 22, 1936 in Manakin, VA. He was the beloved son and only child to the late Paul and Gladys (Tyler) Fields.


Paul was a graduate of Central High School in Goochland, VA. After school, he served in the United States Army. Paul worked for the West Mifflin Construction Company as a General Field Superintendent for 36 years. He was a lifelong member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America Local 373.


Paul was an avid Golf Player, he loved playing golf. Paul had a Golf Club named, “Sweet Swingers.” He traveled all over the United States to play in different golf tournaments. During his travels, he met his beautiful wife, Brenda. After dating for two years, they became husband and wife; a match made from heaven. He was the love of her life for twenty-five years. Paul will be greatly missed by Brenda.


Once Paul became dedicated to his calling to serve the Lord, he gave up playing golf. His new passion was to serve God. Paul was the President of the Lower Area Laymen. He was a fifty plus year member and Chairman of the Deacon Board of Zion Baptist Church in McKeesport, PA.


Paul departed this life on September 9, 2022, at 11:44 am, at his home with his wife, son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren by his side.


Paul leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Brenda; son, Paul L. Fields Sr.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Gaynell (Rick) Grayson of Colorado, Springs, and a host of family and friends.
