Mary Lee Berry, 99, of Clairton, was born April 14, 1926, in McKenzie, AL. She was the beloved daughter of the late A.G. and Jessie (Sallie) Hudson.
Mary Lee Berry, aka “May Lizzie,” was named that by Mrs. Molly Smith. Mary Lee was a character. She was an excellent cook, a great businesswoman, and a friend of the community. Not just a mother, but a much-loved and respected mother of her own, as well as some of her friends who loved, “May Me.”
She was a faithful member of Mount Olive First Baptist Church of Clairton, PA, until her illness prevented her from attending church regularly.
Mary departed this life on May 6, 2025, at AHN Jefferson Hospital in Jefferson Hills, PA. She was preceded in death by her father, A.G. Hudson, mother, Jessie (Sallie) Hudson; sons, Frederick, Anthony, and Clifford Berry; siblings, Cleophus Hudson, Willie Clay Butler, Thomas Hudson, Alean Hudson, Sallie Mae Curry, Merrie Clifford, Thelma Turner, and Fred Earl Hudson.
Mary is survived by her beloved children, Ronald Berry, George Berry, both of Clairton, PA; daughter, Jackie (Myles) Owens of Hampton, VA; 30 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren,71 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
