Martha Christine Wade II, affectionately known as “Granny, G and Aunt G” departed this life Thursday, July 1, 2021, in the Family Hospice Canterbury Place Pgh, Pa.
Granny was born June 11, 1961, in McKeesport, Pa and raised in Clairton, Pa as the daughter of Martha Wade and the late Charles Lee Wade. She was also preceded in death by her Brothers Wayne “NuNu” Wade, Michael Wade and nephew Geoffrey M. Wade.
“G” graduated Clairton High School, class of 1980. She was a member of the Lady Bears where she would cross you up on the court with the greatest of ease. Martha was a graduate of CCAC North Campus and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Sorority. Martha worked as a flagger with Diek Corp, a salesperson for Kirby Vacuum Company and a sales rep for Tahitian Noni Juice Company.
Granny lived many wonderful years in Pittsburgh, Pa and forged many wonderful relationships. “G” was the Doctor of our family! Any and everything that you needed to know she knew it and what she didn’t know she had many Master Herbalist Contacts.
Granny was a former member of Mt. Olive 1st Baptist Church of Clairton, where she sang in the Choralettes choir with her signature lead song “One pair of hands.” She also was a member of the Trinity Church of God in Christ, McKeesport. Aunt G was a loving and caring woman who was loved and cherished by many and will be truly missed.
“G” is survived by her beloved Mother Martha, sisters Patricia (Ralph) Hamlin, of Lugoff, SC, Charlene Wade-Prescott of Clairton; Brothers, Rev. Charles (Sharon) Wade, Minister Tracy Wade, Deacon Carlton (Deaconess Joy) Wade of Clairton, Pa; 20 nieces and nephews who she loved, cherished, and spent precious valuable time with; a host of Great and Great-great nieces and nephews; many wonderful friends.
