Marlene Belland Johnson, 74, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2020 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center with her loving daughter, Monique by her side. Marlene was born on July 18, 1945 to the late James Belland and Rose Sallie in McKenzie, Alabama. She was also preceded in death by her son, Anthony Darrell Belland, brothers, James "Slim" Belland, Elbert Belland, Claudie Belland and William Sallie, sister, Ethel May Bargainer.
As a young girl Marlene would travel from Detroit to Clairton frequently to spend time with her family. Marlene attended and graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan. When Marlene moved back to Pennsylvania permanently, she began working in the battery production at US Steel and was employed as a CNA for Jefferson Hills Manor. Marlene married Wallace Johnson in 1990. She was a member of Mt. Olive First Baptist Church.
Marlene’s interest was going to bingo, playing cards, playing Parcheesi, going to the casino and traveling with her sister-in-law the late Sally Belland Austin and Arter Austin. Marlene loved spending time with her family but especially with her grandchildren.
Marlene is survived by her loving spouse of Wallace Johnson, two daughters, Tamara Green of Pittsburgh PA and Monique Green of Clairton PA; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother James (Sherry) Belland of Upper Marlboro, MD; Stepbrother, Sanford (Barbara) Hurt of Clairton, PA; sister-in-law Ethel Belland of Pensacola Florida; aunt, Georgia Mae Blakely of Detroit, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
