Margaret Judith Anderson Obituary

Margaret Judith Anderson was born November 3, 1951, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Anderson, and Catherine Feaster Anderson.

Judy, as she was affectionately known, attended and graduated from Clairton High School. She then pursued higher education at the State University of New York at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, where she majored in English Literature and minored in Teacher Education.

Her professional journey began with the New York State Division for Youth, where she served as a Youth Director, making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people. She then moved on to the State University of New York at Buffalo's Upward Bound Program, where she worked as the Assistant Director, helping students achieve their academic goals. Later, Judy relocated to Syracuse, New York, where she found success at Aetna Life & Casualty as a Customer Account Representative, a position from which she ultimately retired. Her dedication and hard work were evident in every role she held.

After returning home, Judy reinstated her membership at Morning Star Baptist Church on August 6, 2011 under the leadership of the late Reverend Jerome Stevenson. She was known for her kind and loving spirit, complemented by a great sense of humor that brightened any room. Judy had an extraordinary memory and was renowned for her ability to get things done, no matter the task. Among her favorite pastimes were crafting, playing bingo, and visiting the casino. A dedicated Steelers fan, Judy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly her favorite snacks: banana popsicles and a cold Pepsi. To know Judy was truly to love her, as her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Judy peacefully transitioned from this earthly realm to her heavenly home on December 14, 2024, at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, as well as her sisters, Barbara Ann Anderson and Rita Nathan.

Judy is lovingly survived by her devoted sister, Ruby Anderson Young; her goddaughter, Karin Kelley; nieces Johara Griffin and SaMonia Nathan; and nephew, Jesse Young. She cherished her nieces and nephew as if they were her own children, and they returned that love with all their hearts. Judy is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
