Louis Coward Jr., 81, of Duquesne, Pennsylvania was the first-born child on February 8, 1942, in De Ridder, Louisiana, of the late Mr. Louis and Mrs. Luealla Jury Coward.
Louis and his parents moved to Duquesne when he was just a toddler.
Louis began working during his late teenage years. And when he became an adult, he worked at the United States Steel Mill in Duquesne PA. He continued working there until the Steel Mills closed. Immediately after receiving his certification, he was employed at the Braddock Hospital in Braddock PA. Louis Jr., worked there for many years until he retired.
There are so many memories of him, one fond memory he left us, is “How every car he ever had was always spotless and clean.” Everyone knew when Uncle Jr. came into the house, all the kids would say, “HERE COMES UNCLE JR.!” They would get in order and listen to his authority. He had a presence about him that everyone respected him. He also enjoyed going fishing, along with listening to jazz and gospel music. Last but not least, several years ago Louis Coward Jr. decided to join and become a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Duquesne, PA. Under the leadership of Rev. Archie D. Perrin, Jr., Pastor.
