Lottie (Susie) Estella Harris, 78, was born March 10, 1943, in McKeesport, PA. She was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Lottie (Arnold) Hudson. Lottie departed this life on June 15, 2021, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Harris Jr., son, Tracy Hudson, daughter, Martine D. Harris; and 7 siblings.
On September 28, 1960, she married James Harris, and from this union, seven children were birthed. Lottie Harris grew up in Clairton, PA where she attended school. She was given the nickname Susie which is what everyone called her throughout her life. Lottie enjoyed cooking though baking is where her true talent shined. But her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She especially loved gathering as many of her grandchildren together as she could and taking them to Light Up Night in Pittsburgh every year. She was a former member of Mornington Star Baptist Church. Lottie converted to Islam in the 1970s and practiced being a good Muslim for the rest of her life.
Lottie is survived by her three sons, James L Harris, III of Pittsburgh, John C. Harris of Miami, FL, Walter V. Harris of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Joan C. Harris of Pittsburgh, PA, Yvette J. Harris of McKees Rocks; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Margaret (Pat) Decie Luticia Miller; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
There will be a viewing and committal service on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Waters Funeral Home in Clairton, PA from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Following the service, there will be a Memorial Service at Renzie Park in McKeesport at the Jacob Woll Pavilion from 2:00 PM until.
