Loraine C. Turner, 93, of McKeesport, was born September 28, 1930, in McKeesport, PA. She was the beloved daughter of Gordon and Nannie Mason, Sr. She absolutely loved her family. She worked the Summer Lunch program at Harrison Village for many years. She retired from McKeesport Area School District as a Cafeteria Worker in 2020.

Loraine attended McKeesport Area High School.  She enjoyed staying physically fit by walking. She participated in the Pittsburgh Marathon and the Pittsburgh Great Race, and she always finished every single time. She loved spending time with her closest family and friends. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. 

Loraine, affectionately known as Soul and Ollie, departed this life on May 28, 2024, at Sycamore Estates Nursing Home, Duquesne, PA. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Mason Sr., mother, Nannie Mason, spouse, John J. Turner, Sr., brother, Major Mason, sisters, Sylvia Carter and Margaret Friend, son, John J. Turner, Jr. and daughter in law, Thelma Turner. 

Loraine is survived by her son, Roy (Linda) Turner of Duquesne, PA; granddaughters, Tiffany Johnson, Lynette Turner, Ruthie Turner, Hannah Turner, Ebony Turner, Ravin Hughes and grandson Nathan Turner, 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Gladys) Mason, Jr., nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Loraine was kindhearted, generous, and loyal.  She had a heart of gold and was always more than willing to help anyone in need.  Our lives have been touched by her and we are all better for it.
