Lexie Mae McLeod, 91, of Clairton was born June 6, 1933, in Cilo, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late LeRoy McLeod and Mable Brown.

Lexie completed her studies in Robeson County, North Carolina. Lexie moved to Clairton Pa. shortly after, where she resided until her departure on March 15th, 2025. Lexie was the fifth girl out of 6 children. Sisters, Hazel Monroe, Florence Brown, and Latheria Monroe, and one brother Leroy McLeod Jr. Lexie peacefully departed this life surrounded by her loved ones at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving sons, Richard Weatherspoon, Larry McLeod, Evans (Marica)  Weatherspoon, and son-in-law Terry Meade, sisters, Hazel Monroe, Florence Brown, Latheria Monroe, her one and only brother Leroy McLeod Jr., and sister, Mary Fischer.

Lexie held many positions within the City of Clairton, she worked for many years at US Steel, Clairton Legion, AIU Head Start, and Clairton City School District where she became a grandmother to all, for over 25 years. She is known as Grandma Lexy and Sexie Lexie  "If you know you know". She served as a classroom foster grandparent. Most of all she had a passion for teaching the youth in the City of Clairton.

 Lexie was known for her jokes and her smile. If she couldn’t make you laugh, she was surely going, to make you smile. She was special to many in the community. Lexie loved her church. She was an active member, of Mount Olive First Baptist Church of Clairton PA. She served on the usher board and sang in the Choir for many years.

Lexie loved to cook and would feed anyone and everyone. While working at the Clairton Legion Lexie was known for her fried chicken wings, one of the many food choices she had to offer that everyone loved, but nothing topped her famous sweet potato pies.

Memories will be cherished and her legacy will continue on by her beloved sister, Edna Carter of Richmond, Virginia, and three daughters, Patricia Meade of South Park, PA., Charlene (Brad) Dean of West Mifflin, PA., Mona Walker of Clairton, PA.; daughter-in-law, Cathy McLeod; of Clairton, PA; 14 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 42 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren, Special friend/family Karen Hines, and a host of other friends and family.
