Lester Alan Greenwood was born May 5th, 1950. He was the son of the late George and Mary Greenwood. He departed this life peacefully on January 21st, 2026.
He graduated from West Newton High School in 1968. Lester had a diverse work history. He worked in the Detroit car manufacturing industry, worked as a coal miner, OTR (over the road) driver, a heavy equipment operator, and a welder in the iron industry. After retiring, he worked as a jitney driver. He was fondly known as "Cowboy."
He leaves to mourn his children, John Greenwood and Stavonia Greenwood Saporito; his grandchildren, Kelton Greenwood, Angelo Saporito, and Christopher Greenwood; his sisters, Rose Marie Fields and Georgette Snowden; his brother, Stanton Greenwood; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews who he adored, supported and protected.
He was that protector of his family and friends. Lester had a great sense of humor and knew how to make you laugh.
