Laura M. Bell, 93, of Pittsburgh, was born November 6, 1928, in Elizabeth, PA. She was the beloved daughter to the late William and Hazel (Brinegar) Batch.
Laura was educated in the Elizabeth School District. After graduation, she furthered her education at the University of Pittsburgh for music. Laura was employed by the University of Pittsburgh in 1971, where she retired. Laura lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Laura was a former member of Petra International Ministries.
Laura’s main priority was looking forward to spending time with her family every Saturday. She would cook her favorite meals; the family knew this was their time together, even your friends were invited, and you would never leave empty-handed. She also enjoyed working on puzzles in her spare time.
Laura departed this life on April 12, 2022, at Monroeville, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bell Jr.; parents; father, William Batch, mother, Hazel (Brinegar) Batch; four sisters, Olive Micheaux, Willa Jean Pinnix, Lorene McCrae, Charlotte Nelson.
Laura is survived by her loving children; son and daughter in law, Calvin (Karen) Hill; daughter and son in law, Rebecca (Paul) Carter; two daughters, Carol E. Owens, Cynthia L. Hill; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
