Lafawn Anavah Snow Obituary

Lafawn "Anavah" Snow, a proud product of Clairton, Pennsylvania, transitioned this world to be with The Father on December 6, 2023. Her sunrise was March 7, 1954, as the fourth child of the late Irma Hunter and James Snow, Jr. Six more siblings were subsequently born out of this union and became affectionately known as "The Ten Tribes of Irma."

Lafawn spent the early years of life in Clairton, where she was educated in the Clairton Public School System, graduating in 1972. She was generally remembered by friends and family as a jovial young lady, who was always fun to be around. Like her siblings, she was a natural athlete and was a key member of the Clairton Robinettes, a popular women's softball team, that was known throughout the Mon Valley region.

In 1973, Lafawn began her religious transition to becoming a Hebrew Israelite. Shortly thereafter, she left the United States for the Middle East, where she became known as Anavah and resided there until her passing. In her later years, she resided in Dimona, Israel. During her time abroad, she became a very respectable chef and traveled to the United States to teach classes in various cities, including Atlanta and Chicago.

Affectionately known as "Emma," she will always be remembered by her huge family in Dimona, including several children and grandchildren, for her singing, dancing, joking, and infectious smile. In addition, she leaves behind a host of loved ones in the United States including her biological siblings: Estalita, Janet, Joseph (Iris), James III (Marisa), Keith (Darlene), Richard (Judith), Bobbie Jo, and William (Esther), as well as Terrence who transitioned prior to her. She is also mourned by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. While the family didn't have the opportunity to spend much time with her, she will remain in their hearts, and her memory will be even more special because of that.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4
