Karli Short Obituary

Karli Asti Short, 26, was born July 18, 1995. She was the beloved daughter of Brandon Short and Krista Pettis. Karli attended McKeesport Area School District and was a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of 2014.

At the age of four, Karli was a cheerleader for White Oak Falcons. Also, she played basketball at the McKeesport YMCA and was a majorette for Golden Eagle in North Huntington. Having studied cosmetology in high school, following graduation, Karli used that portion of her education working part-time as a hairstylist and makeup artist. She enjoyed making people feel their best by looking their best for special occasions. Additionally, Karli was an excellent cook and worked at PC Planning and Catering were her specialty dish was macaroni and cheese.

The job Karli loved the most was as a caregiver where she worked at Mt. Vernon of South Park and most recently, Senior Care Plaza. This work tapped into her caring nature and she felt joy helping those who needed help. In her youth, Karli attended Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Sunday School. She participated in the annual Easter and Christmas services and was always excited to deliver her speeches. Karli never strayed from her Lord and Savior Jesus.

Karli was extremely excited about becoming a first-time mother. Her bundle of joy was to arrive in February 2022. Unexpectedly, on Monday, September 13, 2021, Karli and her unborn baby were called to their eternal home in heaven. Karli was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Andrea Blackwell-Short; paternal grandfather, Melvin Wilkes, and his mother Ozella Wilkes; and maternal grandmother Lynn Pettis.

She leaves to cherish her memories, mother, Krista Pettis; father, Brandon (Mahreen) Short; siblings, Miriam and Noah Short; grandmother, Ramona Wilkes, grandfather, Zach Pettis, Uncle Jeff Blackwell, Aunt Roxanne Mask, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention.
