Karen Yvette Jones was born on May 21,1957 to Gerald A. Jones Sr. and Helen F. Meacham in McKeesport Hospital, McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She graduated from McKeesport High School in 1975. 

Karen was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church where she came to know the Lord. She served on the Usher Board along with her mother. Karen loved spending time with her family participating in many family cookouts.  She enjoyed going to football games with her father to watch her son play.  She also supported him in his rap music endeavors. 

Years later, she attended Median School of Nursing. There she obtained her state CNA certification.  Upon completion of school, she became employed at McKeesport Hospital where she made many friends.  She was a dependable and caring team player which made her loved and admired by her co-workers. After 15 years of service, she decided to relocate to Houston, Texas.  While  in Houston,  she found employment with Cameo Caregiving Service. When her health  began to decline, she decided  to return  to Pennsylvania where she had family support. 

Karen was preceded  in death by her parents and her son Hasani S. Jones.  She is survived by her children, Carl S. (Mignon) Jones of Bay City, Texas, Roniece L. Jones of Pittsburgh, PA, and Hakeem M. Jones of  Duquesne, PA; her siblings, Gerald A. Jones Jr. (Toni Easley) of West Mifflin, PA, Ronay J. Ecklin of Duquesne, PA, Ronnie J. (Denise) Jones of Penn Hills, PA, and Mark R. (Judy) Jones of Duquesne, PA; 15 grandchildren,  and 16 great- grandchildren;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
