Karen Angeline Franklin, born on November 18, 1975, entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of God and the legacy of compassion she leaves behind. Karen was a woman of deep faith, a loving mother and grandmother, and a servant-hearted soul whose life reflected kindness, generosity, and grace.
Karen was born to Jemiline Franklin and Herman Franklin and was an only child. From an early age, she demonstrated a heart for caring for others, a quality that would define her life and purpose. She pursued her education in the medical field, earning her certification as a medical assistant, a path that aligned with her desire to help and serve people in practical and meaningful ways.
She was a proud and devoted mother to her sons, Kiondrae Vangiliste and Jaren Wilkerson. Her joy multiplied in her role as grandmother to Jordyn Wilkerson and Tolken Wade, whom she adored deeply. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her immense happiness and fulfillment, and she cherished every moment with them.
Karen had a vibrant spirit and loved expressing herself through singing, dressing well, and taking pride in her appearance—she especially enjoyed getting her hair and nails done. She had a warm presence that made people feel seen and valued. Above all, Karen loved the Lord and lived out her faith daily through service, compassion, and genuine care for others.
Her heart was especially drawn to those who were lost, lonely, or overlooked. Karen had a deep concern for the homeless and underserved and consistently sought ways to care for her community. She believed in meeting people where they were and offering love without judgment.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Jemiline Robbins; her grandfather, Freddie Robbins; and her uncle, David Waller.
She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Jemiline Franklin and Herman Franklin; her sons, Kiondrae Vangiliste and Jaren Wilkerson; her grandchildren, Jordyn Wilkerson and Tolken Wade; her aunts, Elaine Waller and Angeline Jones; her uncle, Jerry Waller; along with a host of extended family members, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her compassion and love.
