Jeffery Ranson, 63, was born on December 11, 1956, in McKeesport, PA.  The beloved son of the late Herbert Ranson and Matilda Puryear Ranson departed this life on November 5, 2020, in Ontario, CA.  He was preceded in death by his father Herbert Ranson and sister Joyce Puryear Taylor.  Jeffery was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.

Jeffery, a graduate of Clairton High School, relocated to California more than 20 years ago.  While there, Jeffery furthered his education by receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from California State University in Los Angeles, a Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA, and recently enrolled in the Chicago School of Professional Psychology to pursue his doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology.

As you know, Jeffery loved giving advice, making people laugh, and always tried to help others live a better life.  In 2018, Jeffery became an ordained minister of the New Life of Community Church of God in Christ in Ontario, CA.   He often spent time volunteering on Skid Row in Los Angeles and was currently working as a marriage and family counselor.  His next venture was to provide counseling to veterans and those struggling with drugs.   Jeffery also loved to travel.  He and his partner, Pam Brown, traveled regularly, and together, they truly lived life to its fullest.

Jeffery is survived by his two sons, Jamar Brown of Clairton, PA and Gregory Ranson of Hot Springs, AR; sister, Donna Micheaux (William) of Wexford, PA, brother Herbert Ranson (Phyllis) of Killeen, TX, sister Sondra Blackman (James) of Clairton, PA, his grandchildren, California family Pam Brown, Lanette and Anthony Bauman, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
