Jaron Arthur 'Cook'd up' Mckissick, 42 of McKeesport, passed away very unexpectedly on September 9, 2022. Jaron was born April 24, 1980. He was the son of the late Arthur L and Helen L Dudley Mckissick.
At an early age, Jaron professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Payne Chapel AME Church of Duquesne. As a member of the church, he was active with the YPD and sang in the youth choir. As an adult, Jaron joined Inner City Ministries where he was a member of the choir, and he brought a new form of Art to Christian poetry thru Spoken Word. He later, joined Bidwell Presbyterian Ministries.
Jaron was a graduate of McKeesport High School and a member of the McKeesport Tigers football team. He was a man of many talents and cooking was one of them. With this gift, he found employment at the North Park Lounge Clubhouse, as a chef where he was currently employed.
Jaron was obsessed with motorcycles and cars; he had a great love for customizing and detailing them. He was an avid lover of “The Fast and Furious” movie collection. His passion and love for motorcycles led him to become an active member of the Ruff Ryders Bike Club. From here, he inherited his nickname 'Cook'd up.' Jaron was a sports fanatic, always yelling and screaming for his beloved Steelers or Florida Gators. For three years, he was part of the coaching staff of the North Shore Stallion football team.
Jaron was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Helen Mckissick, his brother, Vincent Simmons and nephew, Jamal Allen. Jaron's memory will live on through his children, Marcus Williams, Arlene Sheffey; 3 grandchildren, Jayda Lucas, Loren and A'moni Washington, all of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Edward Mckissick (Tanya) of Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Christopher Jefferson of McKeesport PA; sisters, Tamala Simmons, Legacy Gilliam, Hilda and Cheryl Mckissick, all of McKeesport PA, Shaytell Mckissick of Duquesne PA and October Williams (Ron) of Pittsburgh, PA, godson Kaiden Mckissick; godmothers, JoAnne and Lolita Slater, both from McKeesport; his girlfriend, Rebecca George and his longtime special friend Holly Williams; along with his 15 nieces and nephews, uncle, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
