Helen Louise Allen was born on February 17, 1943.  She was one of thirteen children born to Jean and Bernum Allen of McKeesport, Pennsylvania.  As a child, Helen was raised by Edith and Hiram Roberts which included the following family members: Hazel, Francis, Algie, Gracyetta, and Morris.  With the love and support of two families, Helen was surrounded by warmth and love throughout her life and was affectionately known as “Peaches” by family members and friends.

Helen grew up in McKeesport, where she raised her four children, Jeffery Allen, Troy Allen, Todd Swindle, and Tiffany Swindle.  As a single mother, she worked hard to provide for them and her greatest joy and proudest accomplishments were seeing her children grow into successful adults.  Helen worked many years at the Jewish Home in Pittsburgh and cherished working and spending time with her best friend, Virginia Jackson.  She also enjoyed BINGO and word search puzzles.  

As she grew older, Helen wanted to be reunited with her children.  After retiring from the Jewish Home she moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to spend time with her son Troy and his family.  She then moved to Superior, Colorado and later to Fleming Island, Florida to spend time with her oldest son Jeffery, and his family.  She eventually settled in Atlanta, Georgia with her youngest children, her daughter Tiffany and her son Todd.

Helen (81 years old) peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her parents; Bernum Allen and Jean Lloyd Allen, her guardians; Edith and Hiram Roberts, son; Dr. Troy D. Allen, sisters; Kay Campbell, Joan Brown, Vicki Allen, Patricia Bailey, Gladys Allen, Francis Johnson and Hazel Chaney, brothers; James Allen, Chester Allen, Larry Allen, and Algie Rodgers, and best friend; Virgina Jackson.

Helen is survived by two sons; Jeffery Allen, Esq. (Fleming, FL) and Todd Swindle (Atlanta, GA), daughter Tiffany Swindle (Atlanta, GA), daughters-in law; Marian Walker Allen (Fleming Island, FL), Lia White-Allen (Baton Rouge, LA) and Verene Morrison (McDonough, GA), grandsons; Dayne Allen (Broomfield, CO), Tyler Allen (Fleming Island, FL), TeJai Allen (Apopka, FL), Saiid Allen (Pittsburgh, PA), Khephren Allen (Baton Rouge, LA), Djoser Allen (Baton Rouge, LA) and Kai Swindle (McDonough, GA), granddaughters; Keiarra McLean (Brooklyn, NY), Kalaya Swindle (Marietta, GA), Akosua Allen (New Orleans, LA) and Tatyana Tomlinson (McDonough, GA), great grandsons; Kaiden Allen (Fleming Island, FL), Kain Allen (Apopka, FL) and Armani Constantine (McDonough, GA), sisters; Peggy Law, Dorothy Blackwell, Sandra Scott (all from McKeesport, PA), Elenor Allen (New York, NY) and Gracyetta Askew (Tucson, AZ), and brother Morris Cortland (Tucson, AZ).

Helen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
