Freddie Mae (Penny) Davis, 77, of McKeesport, was born April 15, 1944, in Braddock, PA. She was the beloved daughter to Freddie Davis and Louise Vire.
She attended school in Braddock, PA. Penny was a single mother and worked hard to provide for her children. She worked as a CNA for 35+ years. She loved to take care of her family, as well as others. Penny loved spending time with her family, going to the movies and cooking large family dinners. She was the dance queen and loved to show off her moves. Her favorite past-time was shopping; from QVC, Finger Hut, Avon, you name it!
Penny was a God fearing, graceful woman with a lot of pizzazz! She was an avid black rights activist and fought for her rights.
Freddie departed this life on December 4, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport, PA. She was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Davis, mother, Louise Vire, brothers, Charles Davis, Alfie Davis, and Clyed Washington, and sister, Jeannett Davis.
Freddie is survived by her loving stepmother, Ethel Davis; daughter, Delynn Davis; son, Berry Washington; son and daughter in law, Darnell (Krista) Davis, Sr.; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, nine brothers, Norman Vire, Hiplito Fontanez, Sixto Fontanez, Larry Paylor, Jackie Paylor, Tony Davis, Jimmy Davis, Geno Davis, Dennis Davis; five sisters, Anna Vire, Joyce Davis, Kristine Davis, Sandy Davis, Janell Davis; God son Tonyell Mack, God daughter Sharon Hinton; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
