Floyd Nelson Corbin Jr. was born October 21, 1955, in West Newton, PA, and passed away on November 5, 2023. Floyd was the beloved son of Irene Corbin and the late Floyd Nelson Corbin Sr.
Floyd was a lifelong member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in West Newton, PA., where he served as a Trustee and sang in the choir. As a Trustee, he readily accepted the charge of maintaining the church and structure for years. Floyd was a graduate of Yough School District. He attended Altoona Trade School receiving a Certificate in Carpentry.
Floyd was the hardest of workers. He did everything from carpentry to weatherization. He worked for the West Newton Boro Road crew, Perry’s Scrap Metal, and performed lawn maintenance at West Newton cemetery. He was always working on or building something, favoring his niece and nephew with many useful handmade gifts. He was a kind and considerate man, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Floyd will be dearly missed by his faithful mother Irene, sister Chris (Christopher), brother Scott, niece Nikki, nephew Noah (Lily), and a host of cousins and friends.
