Dorothy Geneva Taylor, peacefully departed this life on early Monday morning, November 7, 2022, at Eldercrest Nursing Home in Munhall, PA
Mrs. Dorothy Taylor (nee Towles) was born on March 10, 1931, in Chambers County, Alabama to Eley and Zeola Martin Towles. She was educated in the Chambers County School system. After graduation, she moved to the Pittsburgh area and pursued her passion for helping others by getting a degree as a nurse’s aide.
She entered holy matrimony to the late Samuel Charles “Skippy’ Taylor. To this union, three children were born: Her son, Kevin who preceded her in death. Her daughter and caregiver with whom she lived with during her final years, Lucretia Ann Taylor Williams, and her son, the late Brennan Bernard Taylor. Mrs. Taylor lost her beloved husband Samuel in February 2002.
Mrs. Taylor worked for the Jewish Home & Hospital as a nurse and retired after 30 years of dedicated service in 2002.
She was a member of Christ Temple A.M.E. church where she was a devoted member for over 65 years. She was saved and a faithful servant of the Lord.
Dorothy Taylor will be sorrowfully missed by everyone who knew her and the lives she touched. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her three living siblings: sister Alma ‘Miss Tiny’ Brooks, of Lanett, Alabama, brother, Wilford ‘Dennie Towles of Valley, Alabama, and sister, Ruby Towles Daw, of Lanett, Alabama; five grandchildren, two of whom she raised Sean C. Taylor, of Philadelphia and the late Joslin Young, Kashauna Taylor, of Hartford, Connecticut, Brian Williams, of Pittsburgh, PA, Brennan Taylor, of Manchester, Connecticut, Joel Williams, of Midlothian, Virginia and six, Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
