Donte Jerome Hairston, 33, of Clairton, was born June 9, 1990, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the beloved son of Roy Hairston, Sr., and Patti Ann Rossick Jackson
Donte, affectionately known as “Tay Tay”, was the youngest of four siblings. He grew up loving Hot Wheel Cars, BMX bikes, and building tree houses. Donte graduated from South Park High School, also gaining a degree at Steel Center Vo Tech for Advanced Auto Body and Repair.
After high school, he worked as a landscaper for 8 years before obtaining his CDL. Donte then began his career with Interstate and ended at Ciferno Well Services, where he spent the last 4 years.
Donte was loved by so many people because of his love for life and others. He was a cherished member of the motorcycle community for years; Donte was known as “Yello”; where he rode with the Ruff Ryders and Aftermath M.C. He had a passion for being outdoors; weekends were often spent dirtbike riding with the guys, camping along the water, and kayaking with the family. Donte’s creativity shone through in all that he did, from his custom paint jobs to the reconstruction of his home. Donte will always be remembered for how he uplifted and cared for others. He had a way of making you feel like family from the moment you met him.
Donte departed this life on May 8, 2024, at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. His beloved father Roy Howard Hairston, Sr. joined him in paradise on May 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ida Hairston, and great-grandmother of Freda Prillman of Clairton; also, his grandparents Viola and John Rossick of Baldwin, PA.
Donte is survived by his beloved mother, Patti Rossick Jackson; wife, Amy Grayson; daughter, Adriyana Hairston; two sons, Deonte Hairston, and Devonte Grayson; two sisters, Nicole Glass, and Ashley Terry; brother, Roy Hairston, Jr.; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
