Carlos Joseph Pimentel, Sr. Obituary

Carlos Joseph Pimentel, Sr., 89, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, was born March 28, 1934, in San German, Puerto Rico. He was the beloved son of Jose Antonio and Angela (Torres) Pimentel.

Carlos moved to Brooklyn, with his family, at age 5.  He graduated high school as a tailor and began employment for American Airlines at age 21.  (Often referred to as Mr. American Airlines.)  After 41 years, he retired at age 62, in a supervisory capacity, in Dallas (DFW).

He is best described as a simple man who never spoke a bad word about anyone.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Maureen (Sullivan), and his sons.  He and Maureen were married for approximately 48 years.  They met as teenagers living two houses from one another. He enjoyed gardening, playing pool, and an occasional screwdriver.  He also enjoyed purchasing a new vehicle every couple of years and working to keep it clean.

Carlos departed this life, peacefully, on January 7, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen, father, Jose Antonio Pimentel, and mother, Angela (Torres) Pimentel.

Carlos is survived by his beloved; two sons, Carlos Pimentel, Jr. (Dr. G. Marisa Kelly-Pimentel) of Canonsburg, PA, Robert Pimentel of New Castle, PA; grandchildren, Lucien, Wesley, Alexa Pimentel, and Kimberly Kelly; great-grandchildren, Aleia and Vandal Pimentel; brothers Jose (Nilda) and Francis (Rory) Pimentel and sister Sylvia Gregory; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
