Brenda Marie James, 69, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2025, at South Hills Post Acute Nursing Home in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

She was born on February 17, 1956, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late Dorothy Bell Foy. Brenda was preceded in death by her sister, Sabrina Lee Holmes; her brother, Marc Holmes; her nephew, Saintclair  Holmes; her aunt, Zola Mae Reed; her uncle, Perry Lee Foy; her brothers-in-law, Emilio David and Guy Manns.

Brenda attended Westchester Community College and dedicated most of her career to caring for others through her work as a radiology technician and later as a caregiver at a Residential Assistance Facility. She found joy in the simple things and was known for her love of her family.

Brenda’s faith in God gave her strength and comfort throughout her life. She will be remembered most for her kindness, strength, sense of humor, quiet wisdom, and generous heart. Brenda’s gentle presence and loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her devoted husband, Arthur James Sr.; her daughter, Idina Gorman, and son-in-law Robert Gorman; her stepson, Arthur James Jr.; and her two beloved grandsons, Deven Gorman and Mason Gorman. Brenda is also survived by her siblings: sisters Mildred Rodriguez of West Mifflin, PA, Phyllis David of Baldwin, PA; and Joyce Holmes of Silver Spring, MD; brothers Allen Holmes of Baldwin, PA, Phillip Holmes of Pittsburgh, PA, and James Holmes of Bronx, NY; her aunt, Linda Boyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.

She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had been blessed to have known her. Brenda was a remarkably giving soul—always the first to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a comforting presence. Friends and family knew they could count on her in times of need. Brenda’s kindness touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of compassion and selflessness that will forever be remembered.
