Bobby Milton Paige Obituary

Bobby Milton Paige was born on May 30, 1954, at McKeesport Hospital in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Bobby was the fifth child born to Henry Paige Sr. and Willie Mae Matthews Paige. He spent his childhood years growing up with his siblings, sisters, Gail and Cornelia, and brothers, William (Bubba), DeWayne, and Henry Jr. (Hanky) in McKeesport.

In 1973, Bobby was drafted into the Vietnam War. He spent the next 4 years serving his country and received an Honorable discharge in 1977. Upon his return home, he began to take steps to build a career for himself. Bobby loved to cut hair, and he was great at it, too. In the early 1980s, he obtained his Barber’s license and began cutting hair professionally. He eventually moved to Denver, Colorado, and became a full-time Barber. After spending much of his adult life in Colorado, he returned to his hometown of McKeesport, where he would live for the remainder of his life.

Bobby worked at the VA hospital in Oakland for many years, and in his free time, he had one important hobby - Fishing!  Bobby loved to fish. An avid fisherman, Bobby would fish anywhere. I mean, anywhere! He enjoyed going on fishing trips whenever humanly possible. He fished all over Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, Florida, and, of course, Colorado. Fishing was his thing!

Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Bobby knew of his unwavering faith in God. Although he was a soft-spoken man and often a man of few words, he never passed up an opportunity to praise the Lord and thank Him for the blessings bestowed upon him. Bobby was so proud to serve his church, Bethlehem Baptist Church in McKeesport, and was extremely dedicated and committed to his church community. Always happy to offer his time and was willing to help complete any task when called upon to do so.

Bobby served as the leader of the Usher Ministry, as a loyal trustee, and was dedicated to the success of the Lifeline Ministry. It was at this very church that he would meet the woman who ultimately became the love of his life. In 2017, Bobby met Anica Jones, and in October the following year, they were married. He not only gained a wonderful wife but also a loving bonus family, including Jamaca N. Chavis (Jason), Dane J. Sayles (Jillian), Asown B. Sayles (Stephanie), Dontel J. Sayles (Brittanie), and 14 grandchildren. He enjoyed family dinner outings, activities around the house with the grandkids, and travel trips to places, including Florida. He especially loved a family vacation to Kentucky, where he visited a true to life Noah’s Ark.

In life, Bobby hoped to one day extend another’s life after his passing, and as an organ donor was able to achieve this after his death. This unselfish act was yet another example of Bobby’s willingness to help others in need.

The loss of Bobby is indeed insurmountable. He will be deeply mourned by his devoted wife Anica, his immediate family, his extended family, his church, his community, his co-workers at the VA hospital, and a massive amount of friends too many to count. Special mention to all those who had an impact on Bobby’s life, just to name a few, are Ms. Danyell Foreman and the Heart Surgeons and team at Shadyside Hospital.

Bobby was truly one of a kind and will be missed beyond all measure.

Until we meet again, Rest easy in Paradise. We love you, Bobby!
