Barbara Mohamed Obituary

Barbara L. Magwood-Greenley (Mohamed) was born
October 8, 1989, in McKeesport, PA. She was the beloved daughter of Carla Magwood-Johnson and Louis Greenley.  It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara announced her passing at the tender age of 32 years old on July 23, 2022.

Barbara was affectionately known as Barb, Barbie, and Barbara Bush. Barbara grew up in Duquesne, PA, and West Mifflin, PA. She was a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Duquesne/West Mifflin for many years during her childhood. She participated as a member of the Duquesne Duchess drill team. She graduated from West Mifflin Area High School in 2008 where she served on the track team.  After high school, Barbara went on to pursue her career in the medical field. She attended Everest Institute to study Medical Assistance and then later went on to obtain her CNA license. For the past five years, she was blessed to work alongside her mother and sisters in the family business, Carla’s Caring Heart as a trainer.

Barbie was very close with her mother and stepfather, Mike (Pops). She enjoyed traveling with them, especially to one of their favorite vacation destinations, Jamaica. Barbie also had a beloved connection with her father Louis. She found joy in the bond they created.

A mother and a daughter always share a special bond, which is engraved in their hearts. Everyone knew Barbie as a “Mommy’s Girl”. They were more than just mother and daughter; they were best friends. Their relationship had a beautiful influence on Barbie’s strength and confidence.

Barb was the middle child, perfectly blended between Boogs, Nasha, Tonya, Starr, and Jer’Cara. As you can imagine, growing up with Barb every day was like a box of chocolates. You never knew what you were going to get. From childhood bickering (which followed into adulthood), the loyalty to each other is unwavering. She was the protector and an amazing sister to all her siblings.

Although she never had children of her own, one thing she was most passionate about was caring for Aunnie’s and Godmom’s babies. Her love for them is infinite.

Endearingly called Barbara Bush, her big heart allowed her to continuously preserve strong connections with her aunts, uncles, and cousins.

On May 14, 2019, Stuart and Barbara were married in Montego Bay, Jamaica surrounded by family. The two of them enjoyed traveling, hosting gatherings for loved ones, and spending quality time together.

Queen of all things Purple, Prince didn’t have anything on her. Selflessness and generosity were two traits that highlighted her personality. Her contagious smile and big laughter would fill any room.  Her firecracker attitude and authentic vibes were unmatched. She touched the lives of so many people in such a short amount of time. To have the privilege of knowing Barbara was to love her.

Barbara is survived by her spouse, Stuart Mohamed; father, Louis Greenley, mother, Carla Magwood-Johnson, stepfather, Michael Johnson; siblings, Swanny Gibson, Michael Magwood, Shanasha Magwood, Tywone McClain, Tonya Magwood, Zrandria "Starr" Magwood, LaCree Parrish, LaCoya Brown, and Jer'Cara Magwood-Jones; nieces, nephews, godchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins; childhood best friends Olivia Gilbow and Lynaé Neal; and a host of extended family and friends.
