Annie Marie McLean was born Annie Marie Holmes to the proud parents of George and Edna Holmes Washington in Uniontown, Alabama on December 20, 1947. She was one of nine children; seven girls and two boys. Annie moved to Clairton, Pennsylvania with her two daughters Josephine and Carole (Jeannette) in 1978, where she became a member of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ. There she worked with numerous church groups. She sang in the adult gospel choir, served faithfully on the Usher Board, worked on the Kitchen Committee, and was a member of the Pastor’s Aid Group.
Annie was married to her husband Alexander McLean, Jr. for 23 wonderful years. They were married on July 11, 1998.
