Mr. Hughey loved spending time with his grandchildren, as well as traveling to Indianapolis and Charlottesville to visit them. Birmingham was another destination he frequently visited to enjoy holidays and special gatherings with family. If he was not up early golfing, he was out enjoying early morning walks. He liked attending the symphony and theater to enjoy the performing arts. He also loved watching sporting events, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. Up until his passing, he was surrounded by his family and friends with love.
