Allen Conway Reese, Sr., 97, of Elizabeth PA., was born June 15, 1927, in Elizabeth, PA.. He was the beloved son of the late Nathaniel and Edith Phillip Reese. He was affectionately known as Reese.

Allen attended the Elizabeth Forward School District. He served in the World War II Army. He also worked as a laborer/crane operator for US Steel for 33 years. After retirement, he joined John Lipp Construction as a flagger and his last place of employment was with the Allied Security Company.

Allen enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing poker with family and friends. He loved bird watching and feeding them, and he also loved planting a garden. On any given day, you could find him doing what he loved; working in his word search book, while sitting on the front porch or in the house. Each year on the last day of school, he treated all of his great grandkids to an ice cream day.

Allen departed this life on October 3, 2024, peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife and family at their residence in Elizabeth, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathanial and Edith Phillip Reese; daughter, Kathy Diane Reese; brothers, Samuel Phillips, Meredith “Bus” Phillips, and Donald “Toots” Phillips; sisters, Edith “Eve” Reese, Alma Matthews, Queen Reese.

Allen is survived by his loving spouse of 71 years, Gloria; children, Rev. Dr. Elaine Reese of Cleveland, Ohio, Gloria (James) Artis, Allan Conway, Jr., Eric Anthony Reese; grandchildren, Martin (Meredith) Vaughn, Amy (Tony) Brinson, Apostle Dionna Ellison, Allan Conway Reese III, Lindsey Marie Reese; great-grandchildren, Breaonna, Anthony, Alyssa, Bailie, Jameson Thatcher, Torian, Talissa, Averey, Allan Conway Reese IV; great-great-grandchildren, Itali, and Santi; sister-in-law, Lowell Owens, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
