Alan Lee Dixon, 71, of Elizabeth, was born July 30, 1951, in Monongahela, PA. He was the beloved son of  William and Bertha (McCoy) Dixon. Alan departed this life on the morning of August 25, 2022, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, William Blane Dixon, and his grandson Miasinque Smith.

Alan graduated from the class of 1969 from Monongahela High School. After attending high school, Alan did play basketball for Point Park College then attended school at the Gateway Technical Institute class of 1971, where he earned a degree in Electronic Technology. He then served in the U.S Army for two years as a Computer Technician. Alan used these skills to obtain employment at NASA working on the satellites out in California for many years, to return to Pittsburgh to work for Eastman Kodak, then transfer his skills as a Field Engineer for FedEx and retired in April of 2021.

Alan was a wonderful, devoted, thoughtful, and wise man. He was always a support to his family and friends. His family meant the world to him and his grandchildren in particular brought him such joy. Alan was always pouring his wisdom and knowledge into anyone that wanted to learn and grow in their life and he will truly be missed.

Alan is survived by his loving mother Bertha Dixon, his children, two daughters, Camille Dixon (Michael) Morefield, and Lindsey (James) Coleman; son, Cameron Dixon; 14 grandchildren; Miashanti, Miahirala, MiaAzizi, Micah, Mialyese, Malachi, Mykia, Mialaika, Malinah Smith and Malcolm Morefield, Zella and Jamison Coleman, and Colson Dixon, 1 great grandchild Aubriella Carr; brother, William (Lori) Dixon; sister, Adraine (Kenny) Howell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.
