William Stanley Hopkins, 84, was born June 4, 1936, in Washington, D.C. He was the beloved son of William and Mary Hopkins. He departed this life on March 5, 2021, at home in Pittsburgh, PA.
As a member of Pentecostal Temple Church, he enjoyed working in the Drama Ministry and was given the role of Jesus in several gospel drama presentations. William was an entrepreneur, he also worked in Produce in the Pittsburgh Strip District for many years. He often supplied fruit and vegetables to the Missionaries and Seniors in the church and in the community. He enjoyed working with schools in the Pittsburgh area to make sure students had fresh produce available to them. William loved dogs had an extensive career in training and breeding dogs. He was an animal advocate and a lifetime member of the American Dog Breeders Association.
William is survived by his wife Lula, two sons; Rev. Stanley (Jacquelyn) Hopkins Sr.; Dana Hopkins; two daughters, Evangelist Rudel (Elder James) Mayers, Chicago, Ill.; Terri Lawrence, Atlanta, Ga; sister, Francis Hopkins, Maryland; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. William was preceded in death by his son, Clifton Lamont Hopkins; brother, Ernie Hopkins; and his parents.
