Shirley Jean Coon King, 74, of Solon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at home.
She was born March 25, 1943 in McKeesport, PA, daughter of the late Calvin and Ora Lee Johnson Coon; She was also preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Coon. Shirley was the loving wife of Bernard Andrew King of Solon, OH.
She attended Holy Trinity Church in Cleveland Ohio and was a former member of Mt. Olive First Baptist Church.
Shirley received her Bachelors from Duquesne and her Master in Music; She worked as a Teacher and Educator for Warrensville Heights School District. She was an inspiration to all who met her and touched the lives of many children throughout her career.
Left to cherish her memories are husband, Bernard Andrew King of Solon, OH; daughters, Sharna (Dr. Evan) King-Baker of West Mifflin and Bethany King of New York; grandchildren, Lauren Baker and Evan Baker; siblings, Rev. Alvin Coon of Hazelwood, Asaline Peterson of Clairton, William (Yvonne) Coon of Mitchellville, MD and Robbie Lester of Clairton, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
Friends will be received Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Mt. Olive First Baptist Church, 451 Park Avenue, Clairton, Pennsylvania, where services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Round Hill, Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
